Learning foreign languages | Benefits

Hello!

Since my childhood, I've been exposed to different cultures. My parents were concerned to show me the importance of respecting each person in the world and being tolerant. Probably because of it, I love travelling, getting to know foreign culture and learning languages. I perceive it as my passion and I want to continually develop my skills. Today I'll give you a little bit of motivation and show a few advantages of learning foreign languages. 

Everything is available 

Have you ever had that moment when you wanted to watch or read something in your native language, but it wasn't accessible yet? It happened to me several times, especially when my English skills were, let's say, very weak. My native language is Polish so I had to wait till something was translated and sometimes it took a while, particularly with less popular movies or books. Every time you learn a new language, the more things become available to you. 

Travelling is easier

This point is connected especially with English. Can you imagine going abroad when you can't say a word in this language? I, personally can't. You wouldn't even be able to order proper things at the restaurant or to ask someone if you got lost.

You learn about a different culture

By immersing yourself in a given language, you get to know traditions and gain a general background of the country. One day you can go there and find out even more things.

It's easier to get a job

Employers appreciate people who know multiple languages. The ability to use a few of them will look good in your CV.

 You meet new people 

 At first, it isn't possible to make friends or connections without communicating. For example, imagine working in a foreign country. Knowing the language will help you get to know your colleagues. Secondly, it's amazing when you see someone trying to talk in your native language. It shows people that you care about their nation.

Your brain benefits

 Learning new stuff develop your brain's ability to memorise things. That's why it's important to study even when the person is older. Your brain will be functional and efficient for longer.

 It's very satisfying

 You gain additional motivation when you feel that something is getting easier for you. Remembering that at first, you couldn't compose a simple sentence but now you can talk in a given language, gives you a feeling, that you can achieve everything. It's also a good way to spend your time productively.  

That's all I can think of for now. I hope that I inspired you a little. I want also to write about engaging and interesting ways to learn languages.
